Livorno Golf Club

The Livorno Golf Club was born from the idea of redeveloping a public area, formerly used as a landfill and neglected for many years, located within the city between the sea and a sports complex consisting of tennis, soccer, football and baseball fields.

The grounds, spread over an area of 10 hectares within which were built Club-House, bag storage, machinery storage, lighted driving range with 9 indoor stations, pitching green, putting green and a 9-hole par 28 course standard approval 100% organic.

The design is formed by the central core near the entrance and the hub of the club’s social life, consisting of the clubhouse and practice area. Surrounding the central core is the 9-hole course, which was designed and shaped by enhancing the existing morphological conformation of the terrain.

The design of the route, supported by 3D models made by computer, was meticulous and meticulous in detail

The length of the holes is designed to play each hole a different iron, from 8 of the 9 holes there is a direct view of the sea, and wind conditions greatly affect the difficulty of individual holes.

The design stems from the desire to create a course that can both train newcomers and high hcp, with the opportunity to make different types of strokes and then give them the means to deal with any type of course, and to test and offer a difficult training ground for low hcp.

Driven by the desire to create a 100% organic field, the choice fell on a planting entirely made of macroterma, both for tees and fairways and for greens. This choice will lead to the absence of the use of pesticides or other chemicals for the maintenance of the field and a saving of up to 50% of water resources. In addition, photovoltaic panels and solar panels will be installed to power the clubhouse and other outbuildings.

In terms of vegetation and plantings, the choice fell on leaving between the holes and near the boundaries of the course the wild vegetation that is very active in this area and planting native essences in strategic points for both safety and game purposes.
